Jenni Hermoso was once again the star for Pachuca against Nexaca on Thursday. The Madrid-born striker scored one of her team’s three goals on the night and has now scored five in total since returning from her World Cup break in mid-September.

Hermoso continues to be key for the Mexican side, who are currently sixth in the table.

She started for Pachuca in their latest match and was on the pitch for the entire 90 minutes. In the 37th minute, she extended her side’s lead with a goal that made it 2-0 to Pachuca. Hermoso also had several chances in the second half but failed to find a brace.

Spain return for Hermoso

The Spanish international is on a roll and she is set to represent Spain once again. On Monday, the national team will begin their training camp at the Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas in Madrid, Spain. Following her absence in September, Hermoso will play for the first time under the tutelage of Montse Tomé, who was appointed head coach following the departure of Jorge Vilda.

Hermoso is expected to play a key role against Italy and Switzerland (27 and 31 October respectively). The veteran forward was one of the leaders on the field who helped guide Spain to World Cup glory Down Under.
