Jonathan Rodríguez to leave América for MLS
The Uruguayan attacker looks set to leave the Mexican giants.
According to various reports, América striker Jonathan Rodríguez is reportedly looking to leave the club and opt to continue his career in MLS. Reporter Gibrán Araige claims that the Uruguayan striker is in advanced negotiations with Portland Timbers over a move and that he is already looking for a home in the United States.
“Cabecita Rodríguez wants to go because the offer is quite enticing, and I was told that they are even checking houses there in Portland. They want him there, so in case it happens, he is looking for a place to live,” said the sports journalist during the Insiders program.
Similarly, it was a subject that had already been speculated about for some weeks, as the same source said that the offer was more than attractive. “Rodríguez wants to go to MLS. He likes the offer, and he has not been a player who has had lots of minutes in the Jardine era. It has been difficult for him to be part of the starting XI. In that sense, Cabecita is very happy with the offer,” Araige added.
