Jorge Ruvalcaba thanks Pumas ahead of Standard Liège switch
The Pumas youth team product says he is grateful to the club for letting him go to Europe.
Jorge Ruvalcaba was one of the best players for Pumas during the last couple of tournaments, regularly contributing assists fir his team mates. After a number of good performances in the Liga MX, the UNAM youth squad product has managed to fulfill the dream of moving to Europe. There, he will defend Standard Liège’s shirt in the Belgian top flight and the move was only made possible after being facilitated by Pumas.
“I am very grateful, very, very happy, because when I joined Pumas about two years ago, I set myself a goal to one day be able to play in Europe and now that dream is coming true,” the player told TUDN.
He continued with words of gratitude for the club and the fans: “The truth is that Pumas means everything to me. It means a lot. At the end of the day, Pumas was the club that gave me the chance to realize my dream of playing professionally; and everyone what each game means - for the fans and everything. They know what a great club Pumas is”.
“I’d like to let them know how very grateful I am to everyone, to all of them. As I say, in the end, they were the ones who gave me the chance to reach the U-20s, which for me was the most important moment of my life. I want them to know that in me, they will always have a Puma wherever they go and I will always be supporting them all from afar,” he added.
Pumas finished as leaders of Group 2 in the East in the Leagues Cup, after beating Montréal on penalties and beating DC United 3-0. Next up for Antonio Mohamed’s side are Querétaro in the Round of 16.
