Julián Araujo is already wearing the Barcelona shirt - when is the presentation? When will he play?

The Mexican winger will be presented and will meet Rafael Márquez in the youth team.

México

Julián Araujo is a new FC Barcelona player and the Mexican winger is already wearing the colours of his new club and will seek to emulate what his compatriot Rafael Márquez did on Spanish soil. The former LA Galaxy player arrived yesterday at his new home and will sign until 2024 with the option to expand the deal.

“I’m very happy”, he said upon arriving in Barcelona, “it’s a dream to be at a huge club and I will give my all.”

It should be remembered that the transfer of Araujo to Barcelona has not been without its problems. FIFA initially did not ratify the transfer due to a late registration... by 18 seconds. The Spanish club subsequently went to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and the team were able to sign the player.

When will he be presented?

The Mexican international will arrive at Barça B, the youth team run by Rafael Márquez, who has already talked about his most recent signing. The ideal scenario for Araujo is for him to copy his compatriot and make the jump to the first team in the future.

The list of Mexicans who have played for Barça is led by Márquez, along with Giovanni and Jonathan dos Santos, who had stints at the club, although they could not come close to what Márquez achieved during his time as a footballer. Barcelona is expected to officially present their new full-back after he passes the medical exams.

When will he play?

Due to the appeal with CAS, the player can only train with the club for now until there is a resolution. No date is set for when it will be resolved.
