Juventus striker Vlahovic valued at €110 million, linked to Premier League move
The Serbian is on the shopping list of many clubs around Europe; Juventus will sell if they get the desired fee.
Dusan Vlahovic has become a huge talking point during this winter transfer market. According to la Repubblica, the Juventus striker is wanted by Arsenal. The London club already had the player on their radar even before he signed for the Italian side but now he is back at the top of the list.
But one thing is very clear: his price of €110 million, pushed right to the top of its limit even after a few poor months in front of goal. Right now, his valuation by Juventus is around the sort of money Real Madrid might offer Dortmund for Bellingham, one of the most in-form players in the world.
Arsenal is not the only club looking at the striker, something that is driving his price higher: Barcelona and Bayern Munich are also on the prowl. In Turin they’re clear that his price is what it is, and at 22 years old the striker’s valuation is sky-high. It becomes a lot more striking when you realise that he cost the Italian club €81 million in a move from Fiorentina in 2018. Arsenal were also there at that time, offering only €70 million. The difference then was his form was impeccable: he scored 20 goals and got 5 assists in 24 games.
The Fiorentina Vlahovic no longer exists
The version of Vlahovic that shocked the world at Fiorentina does not look like the same player at Juventus. The goalscorer has been suffering physical problems that have left him out of a huge part of the season. First thigh problems caused him to miss out before his pelvis meant more time on the sidelines, and this season he has only played 10 games out of 18, grabbing 6 goals and one assist.
The Serbian arrived at the World Cup with the same physical problems that stopped him from building momentum at club level. In Qatar, he just about reached 80 minutes across three games in the group stages, which was enough to see him get on the scoresheet against Switzerland.
A lengthy disappearing act from Vlahovic
At Juventus, he had to stop in the middle of October and missed out on the last 4 games the team had. They won them all without him. When he was fit, Vlahovic was lively but his lengthy time on the sidelines started to go on for too long. And it’s not over. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the physical problems will mean Vlahovic will be out until mid-January. If Vlahovic is leaving, it will be at an enormous cost.
