Keylor Navas completes shock Pumas move
UNAM Pumas confirmed the signing of the 38-year-old Costa Rican goalkeeper, who swaps Newell’s Old Boys for the Liga MX.

Any feelings of uncertainty evaporated on Thursday when Pumas proudly announced their latest addition to the squad: Keylor Navas joins Efraín Juárez’s team for the Apertura 2025 tournament and just in time for the Leagues Cup, which gets underway next week.
Pumas urgently needed a goalkeeper following Alex Padilla’s sudden departure to Athletic Club, along with the current situation of their reserves - Pablo Lara is out injured, and Rodrigo Parra in unconvincing form.
Keylor Navas: experience and pedigree guaranteed
With all of that in mind, they opted for the experience of the three-time Champions League winner with Real Madrid, who after a series of difficult negotiations with Newell’s Old Boys, has finally arrived at Pedregal to defend the university colors.
Keylor, who has 120 caps with Costa Rica, signed a one-year contract that will keep him at Pumas until 30 June 2026.
