Keylor Navas has been fighting with Gianluigi Donnarumma to be the number one option with Paris Saint-Germain all-season long. The Costa Rica international made his 18th league appearance on Wednesday night and kept the clean sheet in PSG’s 3-0 win over Angers at Stade Jean-Bouin.

Paris Saint-Germain are at the top of the table in Ligue 1 and close to winning the trophy for their 10th time in history. Le Parisien will have to wait until the next fixture to have an early celebration because Olympique Marseille defeated FC Nantes 3-2.

“I think we were very good,” goalkeeper Keylor Navas told Canal+. “The team worked hard. They still had a few chances, but we controlled that well. We will keep going as you have to win every game and have that mentality, but I hope that we can win the next match to celebrate with the fans.

Keylor Navas could lift his last trophy with PSG

Paris Saint-Germain will face Lens on Saturday and all they need is for Marseille not to win to lift the Ligue 1 trophy this season. Also this could be Keylor Navas’ last trophy with Le Parisiens because after Wednesday’s game he hinted at a summer transfer exit due to the competition with Gianluigi Donnarumma all-season long.

I need to study many things,” said Keylor Navas. “Gigi [Donnarumma] and I have a good relationship and there are no problems with him. Of course, I still want to play. Ultimately, if it is a situation like this season, then it will be complicated. We will see what will happen in the future. My family is happy here and I am happy in Paris. I am treated well, but things must change one way or another.”

So far this season the Costa Rica international has made 23 appearances across all competitions, while Donnarumma has made 22. There has been a healthy battle all season long to become the number one option for manager Maurcio Pochettino.
