Klopp: “Luis Diaz is running and looks really good”
The Liverpool coach was happy with the recovery of several players, including Luis Diaz.
Come back, Luis Díaz! Jürgen Klopp confirmed at his recent press conference that the Colombian winger, after carrying out various work with the physiotherapist of the Colombian National Team in Barranquilla, is back at the AXA Training Center for the next part of his recovery. The German coach was happy to have him back before the World Cup break.
“I am happy with the number of players we have for our training. Luis Diaz is running now and he looks great. We have enough time and we need them healthy, as it's a long season after the World Cup," said Jürgen Klopp.
Although the coach and the medical staff do not want to rush his return, the idea is to have Luis Díaz back for after the World Cup. His first match back could be against Manchester City, on December 19, in the Carabao Cup Round of 16. There is controversy surrounding this date as it is the day after the World Cup final.
If he not able to be ready for then, the most likely scenario is that he will be available on Boxing Day on December 26, against Aston Villa. Luis Díaz has managed to meet the dates set for his recovery and now the most important step will be to make sure he recovers his form that made him have such an impact during his first season in England.
Liverpool, who have not had an easy season so far in the Premier League, will finish off the first half of their campaign this Sunday against Southampton. After the shaky opening to the year, the club’s objective is simple: make the top four. They also need to recover their top players before the knockout stages of the Champions League come around, tasty ties against old foes Real Madrid.
