Since news broke that Leo Messi was set to join Inter Miami, all away games featuring the Herons for the remainder of the 2023 season have sold out. The secondary ticket market outlets are having a field day and Sunday’s match between LAFC and Miami at BMO Stadium is no exception.

‘Messimanía’ strikes again in the City of Angels as fans clamour for tickets for the MLS clash with Sunday’s game set to be the last time in two weeks that the Rosario native pulls on the pink jersey as he is set to miss the next two games as he will be away on international duty with the Argentine national team.

In their short history, LAFC have become one of the most famous teams in Major League Soccer, as the current MLS Cup hosts take on recent Leagues Cup winners Inter Miami with the game also key in both teams respective goals as the end of the regular season starts to draw to a close. The ‘Black and Gold’ are anxious to maintain pressure on top side St. Louis and Tata Martino’s men are desperate for a win as they look to secure a place in the post season playoffs.

Ahead of the game, there is still uncertainty as to Messi starting or not. The 36-year-old has looked tired in recent games and will want to be ready for the Argentina games as the World Cup holders face Ecuador and Bolivia on September 7 and 12 respectively.
