Mission accomplished for Jesse Marsch and Leeds United having managed to avoid relegation on the final day. Now they are looking to reinforce the team prior the start of the 2022/23 Premier League season. The summer transfer window opens up on 30 June and The Whites have two targets in mind, both American: Sergiño Dest and Brenden Aaronson.

Leeds will be handed funds to bring in new players and they are reportedly first going for Aaronson. The Whites have to negotiate with RB Salzburg to buy out his clause, estimated at $22 million, or bring in him on a season-loan deal. Aaronson had a breakout campaign in the Austrian championship and helped the team win the league title.

Sergiño Dest on Leeds’ radar

The other target for Jesse Marsch is the signing of Sergiño Dest, who has been the subject of transfer talks since Xavi Hernández took over the managerial job at Barcelona late-last year. The United States international had some up and down performances and injuries throughout the season didn’t help him establish as an important player in the team.

Dest has proven to be a threat on offense but his defending performances didn’t help him build his case to remain at Camp Nou next season. The USMNT defender is aware that he needs to leave Barcelona in search of more minutes and his playing style could be perfect for the Premier League. The La Liga giants are asking for roughly $33 million for Dest and several teams have shown interest in his services, with FC Bayern Munich and Chelsea being amongst them.
