Liga MX confirm dates and kick-off times for the Apertura 2023 final
Club América and Tigres UANL have progressed to the final of the Liga MX Apertura with the first game set to take place in Nuevo Leon and the return leg in Mexico City.
América and Tigres are the two sides that will compete in the two legged Apertura 2023 final. Both sides had limited problems in overcoming San Luis and Pumas respectively in the semifinals and we now look forward to a final being heralded by many as one of the best on paper given the quality of both sides.
This Monday, Liga MX announced the dates and times of the final between América and Tigres. The first leg will be played on Thursday, December 14 at 10:00 p.m. (ET) at the ‘Volcán’, while the second and decisive game will be played on Sunday, December 17 at 8:30 p.m. (ET) at the Azteca Stadium.
America topped the regular season table and the Coapa side have only lost twice all season, on the opening day to FC Juarez and in the second leg of the semi-final having secured a decisive 0-5 away win over San Luis.
However, they face a Tigres side who are masters of navigating the latter stages of Liga MX tournaments and also current holders of the 2023 Liga MX Clausura after beating Chivas earlier this year. Robert Siboldi’s men will be far from daunted at the task of playing the second leg of the final at the Azteca.
The Águilas will looks to secure their first title in four with Tigres looking to add the championship to their existing haul of eight and draw level with Cruz Azul.
