Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique spoke to the media ahead of the Ligue 1 leaders’ match against Strasbourg on matchday 20 of Ligue 1. The Asturian tactician was asked about the future of Kylian Mbappé, to which he literally replied “no” and then joked, adding, “I can translate that into French”.

A short answer, but one that remains ambiguous, with the player’s future up in the air at the moment. This week, RMC Sport journalist Daniel Riolo claimed that the France captain had already assumed he would be gone in June, so he was not going to complain about the position Luis Enrique has recently placed him in. The silence that has reigned in the French press in recent weeks, unlike in 2022, when every day an update on Mbappé's future came out, is worrying.

Afterwards, the Asturian spoke out on a question posed to him about Kolo Muani’s lack of emotion in his goal celebration against Brest last Sunday. “I didn’t see how he celebrated the goals, that’s personal. I am very happy that he is part of the squad. He has the ability to play as a nine or on the wings. His attitude is perfect. I don’t care if the players celebrate the goals or not”.

Last-minute deals

Finally, the former Spain coach all but ruled out a last-minute reinforcement for PSG, who have signed Beraldo and Lucas Moscardo in the winter transfer window. “I don’t have my watch on me, but the market ends in about fifteen minutes. Unless Luis Campos makes a last-minute surprise, I don’t think so, although the club is still working on all aspects of the market,” he concluded.
