Luis Suárez is aware that his next contract could be the last big one in his career, and he is analyzing his next move. The Uruguay international is a free agent after two seasons with Atlético Madrid and he has several offers on the table, but he is in no rush to announce his next destination.

Possible reunion at Inter Miami CF

Suárez has been heavily linked with a move to Inter Miami for the second part of the 2022 Major League Soccer season, and he has been vocal about his desire to one day play in the United States’ top tier. The MLS side has a designated spot open and they want to bring Suárez to help the team make a run for the playoffs, with Gonzalo Higuaín falling from the starting XI.

The 35-year-old striker would like to reunite with Lionel Messi after their successful stint with FC Barcelona, and during an interview with Cadena Ser’s El Laguero, Suárez talked about the possibility of this happening.

With Messi in a few years? Hopefully. On and off the pitch we’ve been good together. There is nothing better than seeing two colleagues happy outside so that they perform inside,” said the Uruguayan.

He has to wait until June 30 to officially become a free agent and confirm his next move.

Suárez has almost a month to make a decision regarding his future, but the MLS move might have to wait because he wants to keep playing at the highest level: “I have my head in Europe. Spain? Obviously one left a great legacy here, I’m very proud of the career I’ve had here,” he added.

I have received some proposals from here [Spain], but I am analyzing them. I want to see the project of being able to compete at a high level.”
