Man City 4-0 Bournemouth: as it happened
Manchester City-AFC Bournemouth: headlines
- Gundogan, De Bruyne and Foden leave City in control at interval
- Lerma og completes thumping win for hosts
- Haaland makes home Premier League debut
- Two league wins from two for City so far
- Bournemouth still waiting for first ever league victory over Sky Blues
The whistle sounds and City crush Bournemouth with a dominant first half.
Smith gets carded as he clashes with Cancelo.
We're now into added time.... We'll have three additional minutes of action.
Moore off as Lowe takes his place
Into the final five minutes of the contest we go... Next up for Bournemouth is a home game vs Arsenal with City heading to the North East to face Newcastle United.
Senesi on for Tavernier as City take off Walker with Lewis making his City debut
It's 4-0 now as the ball squirms off a Bournemouth player after decent work from Cancelo. Lerma was the unfortunate player in red and black.
As things stand in the Premier League, this win would propel City to the top of the Premier League, level with Arsenal and Leeds United who are both currently winning their games (against Leicester and Southampton) respectively.
Haaland is replaced by Alvarez... The Argentine making his Premier League home debut for Cty.
A decent first half for the Norwegian striker who faded in the second half.
Grealish (back on the pitch) feeds Haaland who screws the ball wide with the Norwegian failing to get decent contact.
Last twenty in Manchester as the City physio ponders on Grealish's fitness. New signing Alvarez (from River Plate) would be the likely replacement.
Grealish is down and seems to have landed badly as his studs seem to get stuck in the turf ... Pep looks concerned as the No. 10 seems to be in some distress.
Water break time... the heat playing its part too in seeing a dip in the tempo of the action in this second half.
Stones and Silva on for City with Dias and Gundogan making way.
Billing off for Cook & Stanislas on for Christie as Parker makes changes for Bournemouth.
City lacking the fluidity that they displayed in the first 45' and despite a valiant effort, Bournemouth are struggling to create anything resembling half chances. Tricky set of fixtures await Scott Parker's men with games forthcoming against Liverpool and Arsenal.
Mepham is carded as he grabs Grealish by the shirt.
City pounce again and Travers saves well to keep things at 3-0. De Bruyne, Mahrez and Gundogan have been excellent for City today.
A subdued atmosphere in the Etihad now as the sense that the game is over as a contest was ratified by the 37th minute Foden goal. A strike from the visiting side is the only thing that could igntie this game as a contest.
A long, long 45' ahead beckons for 'Cherries' fans...
City get the half underway
The teams return to the pitch for the second 45.... This could be a rough day for Bournemouth as Scott Parker will be hoping to limit the damage as Grealish takes the place of Foden.
The whistle sounds to bring an end to the half. City dominating proceedings with goals from Gundogan, De Bruyne and Foden. The visitors have been outclassed and Ederson has just been tested once and saved admirably when called upon.
A long 45' awaits for Scott Parker's newly promoted side in the second half.
We'll have 4 minutes of time added on...
Haaland forces Travers to tip over and that was the Norwegian striker's first effort of the game.
Scott Parker will relish the half time whistle to get his side in and regroup. City have been a step ahead of the newly promoted side in every department.
Christie clips Gundogan and concern for Pep as the German international needs attention.
Cruise control for City
No way back for the Cherries now as Foden makes it three
Cargando...
Foden makes it three! Great run from Mahrez as he feeds De Bruyne.... the Belgian feeds a delightful through to the England international who slots home.
City cruising in the Manchester sun
Kevin De Bruyne's stunning effort puts City in the driving seat after a timid fight back from Bournemouth.
Cargando...
Quality play from the Belgian as he breaks into the box, dummys and delivers a delightful finish to leave Travers with no chance.
De Bruyne....what a goal.... the outside of the boot to make it 2-0
The goal has taken a degree of the tension out of the game with the City fans less raucous now that the deadlock has been broken. Imperative that Bournemouth keep the score to just one goal to keep the contest alive.
The ref calls for a water break as the temperature tops the 30 degree mark.... over 85F...
Not a bad start for Haaland in a City with two goals and an assist now for his new club.
Pearson forces Ederson into action as a snapshot from the edge of the box calls the Brazilian to save well.
Haaland does well in feeding the German international at the edge of the box and a fine left foot to tuck the ball into the corner as the captain breaks the deadlock.
Breakthrough as Gundogan fires home for City
We pass the quarter of an hour mark and despite all their domination and possession, the scoreboard remains 0-0 ....Ederson has been a virtual spectator in the City goal with the Brazilian yet to be called into action.
It's going to be a long afternoon for the Bournemouth defence as they are penned back and it certainly feels like a question of just when City will make the breakthrough. Very, very one sided affair so far at the Etihad.
Foden is through on goal but instead of feeding Haaland, opts to shoot and the effort is well saved by the Bournemouth stopper.
Another corner (4th) for City as the home side are laying siege now to the Bournemouth goal. The visitors have yet to break into the City half.
Stacey carded as he clips Mahrez.
It's all City in the opening minutes as the home side move the ball around with a sea of red and black striped shirts in front. Rodri this time with the header and the former Atleti man should have done better.
Pressure from City as De Bruyne fires a dangerous ball into the box which Smith has to clear from the danger zone as the ball falls to Ake from the corner and trickles wide of the Bournemouth goal mouth.
Off we go in Manchester....
A reminder of the starting XI's as a plume of blue smoke greets the players at a noisy Etihad Stadium.

Ake praises Haaland
Nathan Ake believes there is even more to come from Erling Haaland and hailed City’s summer signing as a player with ‘everything’
“For me, he has everything. I think over time he will only get better for sure.
“I don’t have to tell you how good he is. I think he showed that at the weekend already. He is a goal scorer, he is fast, strong and powerful, but also very good with his feet.
“It is difficult and such a good challenge in training sessions. When you want to go diagonal, he runs in behind because he is so fast, but when you give him space, he can come to the ball
“It is a tough proposition, but it is good to face this every day.
“He is also very smart. He knows what runs to make and when he needs to he will use his body, his strength and his power.
“But he has also got this other side of knowing when to make the run and movement, little touches and spinning.
“He is very explosive and the first few yards are very quick. I think after that he can be even quicker on long distance.
“That gives us a weapon as well because sometimes we can play balls in behind with the space, but also into feet to link up play.”

AFC Bournemouth news
Joe Rothwell and Ryan Fredericks, who joined Bournemouth in the summer, remain out injured for the visitors and David Brooks is still recovering from Hodgkin lymphoma, which the Wales midfielder has now overcome.
City squad news
Guardiola has a full squad to choose from on Saturday, barring the injured Aymeric Laporte, who is expected to be out until September. Bernardo Silva is being linked with a move to Barcelona and may sit this one out as a result.
Obviously, way too early to read into the current Premier League table at present despite today's fixture pitting fourth vs third. Both these clubs have very different objectives for the season ahead with City aiming to retain their Premier League title and the 'Cherries' aiming to avoid the drop back to the Championship.
Etihad Stadium looking immaculate
