If the goal was well taken by Rashford, it was the pass from Fernandes that was worth a few headlines of its own...what an inch perfect pass from Bruno Fernandes, with the outside of the boot to find the United striker. Absolutely sublime from the former Sporting CP man.

Once again, solid play from Arsenal as they move the ball from their goal mouth, ultimately, the Saka cross grazes the crossbar and goes behind for a goal kick.

Odegaard has to do better there as the Norwegian miscues with the goal beckoning. Saka then has a chance but blazes the ball past the United post.

Despite sitting deep, United are giving little to the men in black with Arsenal, on countless occasions having to go back and resume their passing game from within their own half.

The whistle sounds and United players get a warm round of applause from the Old Trafford faithful.

Arsenal have been the better side and saw a goal ruled out early on after VAR (correctly adjudged that Odegaard had fouled Eriksen on the build-up).

Gabriel Jesus and Saka have caught the eye for Arsenal but as things stand the Gunners are on track to taste their first defeat of the season.

as.com

Apart from the goal, it's been a reasonably quiet half from Antony. Couple of decent touches and a few cheeky step-overs from the Brazilian and that's your lot !

We'll have three minutes of time added on.

Despite Arsena's dominance, they have yet to really test David de Gea in the United goal. This time Saka is reduced to firing from long range but his effort drifts high over the United crossbar.

Into the final minutes of the half. United started strongly but it's Arsenal who have been the better side for most of the game so far... Despite that dominance, it's the men in red who lead and that's ultimately what counts.

United take the lead

What a start for the young Brazilian. No better way to endear oneself to a new set of fans... Score against the league leaders at home and rush to the arms of the supporters.

There's a swagger and confidence about United now, something lacking in their Premier League openers when they fell to Brighton and Brentford in the first two games.

It's been a bright start with flashes of incision from both sides with the ball falling to Eriksen and the Dane rifling the ball close to the Arsenal post. Sumptuous delivery from Dalot.

All eyes on Antony

All eyes are fixed on Antony today at Old Trafford with coach Ten Hag making a bold move and thrusting the Brazilian straight into the limelight.

After joining Ajax from Sao Paulo in 2020, the winger has found the net for the Amsterdam giants 20 times in 82 games for the Dutch side.

Expected to get among the goals but also able to assist, the 22-year-old will also be hoping to be pulling on the famous yellow shirt for the Brazilian national team in a few months as the 2022 Qatar World Cup gets underway.

Arteta happy with Arsenal's squad depth after 'phenomenal' transfer window

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is happy with the squad depth following the club's business in the transfer window but said that they failed in their attempt to sign a midfielder on deadline day after injuries to Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny.

Arsenal signed five players, including Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City, but did not succeed in their late attempt to sign Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa, who reportedly rejected three offers for the Brazil midfielder.

The London club had as many as 37 players leave, including high-profile players such as Alexandre Lacazette and Nicolas Pepe.

"We had a lot of things still to do with squad. Look at the departures compared to what we've recruited. The club has done a phenomenal job to bring players with the profiles we wanted," Arteta told reporters on Friday.

"Unfortunately in the last 72 hours Thomas and Mo got injured and we had to react in the market. We tried and at the end of the day we have to bring in the players we feel are right but we didn't manage to do it."

Arsenal are the only team with a 100% winning record this season after five games and Arteta said the table toppers were in good spirits ahead of today's trip to Manchester United.

Ronaldo situation at Man Utd 'sad to see', says Juventus chief

Juventus chief executive Maurizio Arrivabene thinks Cristiano Ronaldo's situation at Manchester United is "sad to see".

Portugal international Ronaldo is reported to have asked for a move away from Old Trafford during the transfer window to play for a team competing in the Champions League.

Despite being linked with the likes of Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Napoli and his former club Sporting CP, Ronaldo remains a United player following Thursday's transfer deadline.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner started just one of United's five Premier League matches this season ahead of Sunday's home clash with Arsenal.

Ronaldo's total of 175 minutes played this term is only the 13th most among all United players, with Anthony Elanga (215) among those to have featured more prominently.

While Arrivabene sympathises with Ronaldo, who spent three years at Juve prior to rejoining United in August 2021, he says it is now United's issue to resolve.

"We said goodbye to Cristiano with great reciprocal respect a year ago, so what happens at Manchester United is no longer our problem," Arrivabene told DAZN.

Keeper Ramsdale is declared fit with question marks earlier this week relating to his fitness. Odegaard too is declared ready for action with Ukraine international Zinchenko also welcomed back in the side by Arteta.

United's start to the season has been less impressive and indeed after two games Erik ten Hag's side were propping up the Premier League table following defeats to Brighton and Brentford. A home win over Liverpool however has kick started a mini revival with the Red Devils winning their past three games.
