Update:

Manchester City unveiled a statue of legendary former player Sergio Aguero to commemorate the 10-year anniversary of his famous, title-winning goal. The statue shows Aguero in the pose he was in after scoring that historic goal to win 3-2 over Queens Park Rangers in 2012.

Several Manchester City fans came out to celebrate as well as former players including Vincent Kompany, Yaya Toure, and Joe Hart. In fact, when Toure came out to the fans singing his chant, he danced along with them, soaking in the memories.

“It’s been amazing. It’s been 10 years. Those wonderful fans - we achieved these kinds of trophies because of them, because the City fans are true fans,” said Toure.

The Aguero statue commemorates his enormous contribution to the success of the club and his pivotal role in that moment that will be remembered by City fans forever. Aguero was forced to retire in December after doctors found that he has cardiac arrhythmia, a heart condition. He visited the statue on Friday, which marked 10 years exactly since that momentous day.

“It’s the moment that I think changed everything,’ City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said. ”If you look at the ten years since, that was the moment that introduced what lies ahead. He is a legend of this club.”

This week, City finally found someone to take over where Aguero left off when they agreed to a deal with Erling Haaland.
