Manchester City have turned their eyes to a player from the United States men’s national team who traveled to the World Cup in Qatar last month to serve as replacement after the imminent departure of João Cancelo. The Portuguese international is reportedly on his way to German giants Bayern Munich on loan with a purchase option at the end of the current season.

Cancelo is reported to have had a verbal disagreement with Cityzens boss Pep Guardiola in training, sparking the deal for his transfer to Bayern Munich before the winter transfer window closes. Once the deal closes, the Premier League side is looking to replace the Portuguese full-back and they have a just few hours to sign a player.

Manchester City are looking to react quickly

Antonee Robinson is the player reportedly being targeted by Pep Guardiola’s team, but Fulham is not keen on letting the American leave because they would have little time to find his replacement. The United States international has been a key player for the Cottagers since their promotion under manager Marco Silva.

The 25-year-old has made 19 appearances across all competitions so far this campaign with Fulham, 18 as a starter, and he featured at the World Cup in Qatar last month. Manchester City are going to make an offer for Antonee Robinson and according to transfermarkt, Fulham might accept an offer of €10 million euros ($10.85 million) for the American.
