Manchester City target Cucurella submits transfer request
Brighton have reportedly received the formal request from the Spanish defender, who wants to join the Premier League champions.
Marc Cucurella does not want to wait any longer. This was announced by transfer-focused journalist Fabrizio Romano, who reported that the Spanish left-back has formally requested that Brighton & Hove Albion release him. The 24-year old has done it through a transfer request.
Cururella wants to be a Citizen of Manchester
However, Cucurella’s latest step is not the result of chance. Manchester City is strongly behind his transfer and the Spaniard has already said yes to the Premier League champions. Thus, the last stumbling block is Brighton, which has not lowered its demands and has made negotiations difficult for the Sky Blues.
Of course, as the same source points out, talks are still ongoing. For this reason, it is expected that, with the transfer request and the passing of days, Brighton will find a compromise. Their high financial valuation for the player are some distance from those of Pep Guardiola’s club, who are not willing to raise their offer of 40 million pounds ($47.6 million).
Brighton, meanwhile, are asking for more than 50 million pounds ($59.5 million) and have said they are not willing to budge. It’s a condition that City do not seem willing to accept, which is why they have begun to explore alternatives on the market and Sosa, from Stuttgart, is one of them. However, the latest gesture of the Spanish left back could tip the balance.
