That's all from us this evening. It was a thrilling game at the Etihad and the title race is still on. Thanks for your company today!

Liverpool with tougher run-in

We're as we were before this game. City maintain their 1-point lead at the top of the table.

Liverpool have the more difficult run-in over the remaining seven games so I think City will be the happier of the sides this evening. City could easily go unbeaten between now and the end of the season.

A single point separates the sides going into the game in Manchester with just eight games remaining this season.

This fixture produces goals and pure excitement, and it is set to be a thrilling contest for neutrals and City and Liverpool fans alike.

Mohamed Salah was in scintillating form the last time the sides faced each other but his form has dipped since then. Will he turn up today? He needs to if Klopp’s team are to beat City.

Liverpool have a tougher run-in and need to get at least a point on Sunday as City could easily go undefeated between now and the end of the season.

Continued success on the domestic front didn’t come until fairly recently for Manchester City.

The club was founded in 1880 but their first league title, the old Division One, didn’t arrive until the 1936/7 season and they had to wait another 30 years for the second one. After ending as runners-up in 1903 and 1921, City clinched their first league title in 1937, finishing three points ahead of Charlton Athletic.

Wilf Wild’s team went from one extreme to the other, the defending champions dropped down a division the following season in spite of scoring 80 goals - more than the team who lifted the trophy, Arsenal.
