Manchester United are hoping to soon complete the signing of Atalanta forward Rasmus Højlund, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

Ligue 1 champions PSG are also interested in the Denmark international and have offered the 20-year-old a bigger financial package than the Premier League. However, Højlund reportedly wants to make the move to Old Trafford this summer, as Erik ten Hag looks to finally get his hands on a new No 9.

Serie A side Atalanta want €80 million for the young forward but United have yet to match the Italian club’s valuation and hope to seal the deal for €70 million plus add-ons. Preliminary personal terms with the player have been agreed.

Kane links

United, who lost to Wrexham in their latest pre-season friendly, have previously been linked with a move for fellow forwards Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen.

United’s summer signings

So far this summer, United have signed goalkeeper André Onana from Inter Milan and English midfielder Mason Mount from Chelsea as they look to close to gap on their cross-city rivals Manchester City.
