Manchester United welcome rivals Liverpool to Old Trafford in the Premier League on Monday. Erik ten Hag’s side currently sit in the dropzone, having lost their two opening games of the season. Liverpool have also disappointed, picking up just two points from a possible six against Fulham and Crystal Palace.

Manchester United team news

New signing of Casemiro will not feature as delays with his visa mean he is unavailable for the match. The Brazilian midfielder’s debut could come away to Southampton this weekend.

French forward Anthony Martial returned to training having been out with a thigh injury and could play some minutes against Jurgen Klopp’s side. Centre-back Victor Lindelof is unavailable, while Uruguay international Facundo Pellistri is also out.

Liverpool team news

Liverpool are missing Diogo Jota, Thiago Alcantara, Ibrahima Konate, Curtis Jones and Joel Matip for the trip to Old Trafford.

Jota and Jones are getting closer to making their respective returns. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Calvin Ramsay and Caoimhin Kelleher are still sidelined.

Striker Darwin Núñez is serving a three-match ban for headbutting Crystal Palace defender Joachim Andersen in the side’s 1-1 draw at Anfield last week.

Roberto Firmino is likely to start in place of the former Benfica player.
