Ten Hag sits down with Ferguson
Erik ten Hag is spending time with Manchester United’s legendary former manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
As the Dutch coach continues to grow into his role at Old Trafford, he was spotted having dinner with Sir Alex in Wilmslow, Cheshire earlier this week.
Ten Hag was asked about meeting Ferguson at a pre-match press conference ahead of the Europa League second leg with Barcelona on Thursday and spoke about having him as a sounding board.
“It’s massive. I always enjoy it, to speak with people who have a lot of knowledge, a lot of experience,” Ten Hag said.
“He wants to share it, he wants to help, he wants to support. You feel Manchester United is his club, he feels so committed. He wants [to see] that we are doing well.
“It was a great night and I look forward to the next night with him.”
Ferguson will no doubt be in attendance today as the club look to win their first trophy under Ten Hag.
Manchester United beat Barcelona
Manchester United advanced to the last 16 of the Europa League with a 2-1 win over Barcelona at Old Trafford on Thursday.
The Old Trafford outfit won 4-3 on aggregate and will play Real Betis on 9 March and 16 March for a place in the quarter-finals of the competition.
It's a busy time period for the club, who will be delighted with how things are currently going under Erik ten Hag.

Howe: "This could be decided on very small margins"
“It’s all set up to be a great game,” Newcastle boss Eddie Howe said pre-match.
“The game against them at Old Trafford was like that.
“We hit the woodwork two or three times. They had chances to score as well.
“It was a very tight game and this could be decided on very small margins. We need to make sure we’re on the right side of it.
“I’ve got no doubt that both clubs will treat the game with the same importance and are both desperate to win. I don’t think there will be any other thought from both sets of players or both coaches. I think it will make for a great game because everyone will be desperate to lift the trophy.”

Brazilian forward Antony says victory for the Red Devils in Sunday’s Carabao Cup final would represent a crucial step towards putting the club “back where it belongs”.
United are bidding to end a six-year trophy drought when they face Newcastle United at Wembley Stadium, having last lifted major silverware when they won an EFL Cup and Europa League double under Jose Mourinho in 2017.
“When I came here, I said that Manchester United is a huge club and we’re going to put this club back where it belongs – fighting for and winning trophies,” he told the club’s website.
Who will come out on top?
The last time Newcastle won a major trophy was in 1969, while Manchester United are attempting to lift their first silverware under Erik ten Hag and first trophy since 2017.
The sides met at Old Trafford in October, a match that ended in a 0-0 draw.
I can see this one being won by a narrow margin. Both teams have seen serious improvement this season under their respective coaches.
Calm before the storm
The fans have gathered on the streets of London. Both sets of supporters have travelled south in large numbers but inside the dressing rooms, it is currently a lot quieter as the kitmen lay out the jerseys and the players get ready for their warm-ups.
