Manchester United welcome neighbours Manchester City to Old Trafford on Sunday.

Erik ten Hag’s side have won three games on the bounce, against Brentford, Sheffield United, and most recently Copenhagen in the Champions League.

City are up next for United, who have been poor of late and will have to be at their very best to get a result against Pep Guardiola’s team, who have nine points from a possible nine in their Champions League group.

Casemiro a doubt

Ten Hag admitted in his press conference on Friday that Casemiro may miss this weekend’s Manchester derby through injury. The experienced midfielder picked up an ankle injury up on international duty with Brazil.

Defenders Luka Shaw, Lisandro Martínez, Tyrell Malacia and Aaron Wan-Bissaka all remain sidelined through injury, while winger Jadon Sancho has been left out of the squad due to his personal issues with Ten Hag.

The Old Trafford side beat Copenhagen thanks to defender Harry Maguire’s goal and goalkeeper André Onana’s last-minute penalty save.

Pep pays tribute to Sir Bobby Charlton

City boss Guardiola has paid tribute to Sir Bobby Charlton ahead of the derby by signing a special book of condolence for the Manchester United and England great, who recently passed away at the age of 86. Both sides will pay their respects to the 1966 World Cup winner before Sunday’s clash.
