Marcelo has a new club. The left back Olympiacos’ lastest signing, as announced by the Greek club on Friday night. There were whispers that a deal was on the cards for several days, and now it’s official. It represents the return of the Brazilian to the world of football after spending the past few months keeping himself in shape training at home and in the gym.

Marcelo bid farewell to Real Madrid as the player with the most titles in the club’s history, winning the Champions League in his last game as a madridista. He won’t be involved in this season’s competition however, as the Greek team will be competing in the Europa League. Marceloa could play against his old Madrid team mates Cristiano Ronaldo, Casemiro and Raphaël Varane in a hypothetical post-group stage match against Manchester United.

Moving to Greece also means packing his bags again to start a new life in Piraeus, although Marcelo will be keeping a close eye on his businesses back in the Spanish capital, which has been his home for the last 16 years. The ex-Madrid captain was able to grow his fortune by investing in businesses that will lead him to maintain his wealth once his career as a footballer comes to an end.

Two real estate agencies in the heart of Madrid

The Brazilian has not wasted time - in addition to being the owner of three clubs through his holding DOCE, a barbershop in Rio de Janeiro and a collaboration with a Catalan jewelry firm, he also owns two companies in which appears as the sole administrator, Belluly and Borsen Trade, as confirmed by LOC.

The two companies are linked to property development and have their headquarters on Calle Francisco Silvela in north Madrid. He also owns a 140-metre flat in Valdebebas, just two kilometers from Real Madrid City. None of the limited companies present annual accounts, but in the case of Belluly, it is known that it has a share capital of 757,776 euros.
