Martín enjoying fine start to Clausura 2023
Martín continued his incredible start to the Liga MX Clausura 2023 in the 3-1 victory at the Estadio Alfonso Lastras Ramírez, his two-goal display taking his tournament tally to nine.
The 30-year-old’s second against San Luis was his 77th overall for América, moving him past Gonzalo Farfán in 10th place in the club’s all-time goal charts.
Since joining from Tijuana ahead of the Clausura 2018 championship, Martín has made 197 appearances for Las Águilas.
América win again to move up table
Diego Valdés was also on target for América on Tuesday, as Fernando Ortiz’s men secured their second straight Liga MX win to go third in the Clausura 2023 regular-season standings.
Martín still over 100 short of Alves
Luis Roberto Alves is América’s leading marksman, having netted 190 goals for the club between 1985 and 1998.
