Martín Ojeda is part of the Orlando City squad that will face Inter Miami and Lionel Messi in the Leagues Cup Round of 32 on Wednesday.

Ojeda, who scored against Inter Miami in May, has spoken to Diario Olé ahead of the encounter with Tata Martino’s men.

On the goal against Inter Miami

“It was very nice. I had to come off the bench, with the game tied at 1-1. I made it 2-1... it was great. I hope it happens again,” the 24-year-old said.

Facing Messi

How does a player stay focused when Messi is on the field?

“Personally, I will try to do my best to win and qualify for the next round. We know we have the best of all time in front of us, it’s going to be nice. But we are going to have to concentrate on our own game.”

What do you talk about with your team-mates? Are they talking about facing Messi?

“We talk about everything, to remove ourselves from the whole Messi thing and to be focused on our own job. We have a great team, and we can go all the way. We’ll keep growing.”

Messi so far

Messi has scored three goals in Inter Miami’s two group stage victories over Cruz Azul and Atlanta United.
