Mbappé family meet PSG before Real Madrid talks
According to L’Équipe, Mbappé's mother travelled to Doha for talks with PSG, who have already been informed that they are also negotiating with Real Madrid.
While Real Madrid remain optimistic, PSG are fighting to retain Kylian Mbappé until the very end. The Ligue 1 club are doing their utmost to try to convince the PSG star to sign a new deal.
French outlet L’Équipe report that the player’s mother, Fayza Lamari, travelled to Doha in the company of her young son, Ethan, to talk to the Parisian club’s top officials. She also uploaded a photo on Instagram that sparked more rumours. The prestigious newspaper’s front page headline this Friday is “Operation Mbappé”, alluding to the talks that have taken place over the last 48 hours.
In France, they are trying to give the impression that everything is still open regarding Mbappé's future. Real Madrid are also calm about the situation because they know that the player has decided that he wants to join Los Blancos next season. PSG were notified after the Champions League round of 16 exit that the France international was already in negotiations with Madrid. In the meantime, PSG are hopeful of him signing a short-term deal in an attempt to get him to this year’s World Cup in Qatar as a PSG player.
The objective in Doha is clear: do everything possible to tie him Mbappé down to a new deal. The Emir of Qatar’s desire is to extend his contract and he will try to do everything possible financially to convince him. Even if his final decision is not a question of money, in Qatar they remain confident that the pressure that has been generated around the player, with even Emmanuel Macron involved, could help him to change his mind.
The issue of image rights is a very important one for the player’s lawyer, and PSG are offering 100 percent control to the forward in a bid to keep him at the club.
