The French specialists consulted by Mbappé have validated the diagnosis previously issued by Real Madrid regarding the discomfort troubling the Bondy-born star. Mbappé is suffering from a sprain in his left knee. They also agreed on the course of action, recommending that he continue with the conservative treatment plan prescribed by the club.

Here is the medical report released by Real Madrid two hours before the match against Getafe: “Following the tests conducted on our player Kylian Mbappé by French specialist doctors, under the supervision of Real Madrid’s Medical Services, the diagnosis of a sprain in the left knee and the suitability of the conservative treatment being followed are confirmed. Pending evolution.”

No date set for Mbappé’s return

The club has not set a timetable for Mbappé’s return. His comeback will depend on how he progresses and how he feels physically. Head coach Álvaro Arbeloa addressed the situation Sunday ahead of the Getafe match: “We’re clear on what’s going on with Mbappé and what he’s been dealing with. It’s about seeing how he feels, how he’s recovering, how things evolve. Right now it’s better not to set deadlines because these are issues we need to monitor day by day and based on how he feels. From there, we’ll make decisions. We want him back at 100 percent, and when that happens, he’ll return.”

This is the first official medical update from the club regarding Mbappé’s condition since last Wednesday, when the French forward was ruled out of the Benfica game after his knee problem worsened. It marks the third time this season he has been sidelined by the issue. In early December, he also missed a league-phase match against Manchester City. The setback was brief, but the discomfort flared up again when the team returned to training following the Christmas break.
