Mbappé rejects Saudi Arabia move
The forward, who continues to train at PSG’s Poissy sports complex, didn’t even want to listen to the offer proposed by Al-Hilal, who had traveled to Paris specifically to persuade him.
In the end, the suspense surrounding Kylian Mbappé’s future lasted just a few hours. The player, as was to be expected, has rejected the offer from Al-Hilal, who had travelled, with permission from PSG, with a delegation to Paris to negotiate directly with the 24-year-old striker and hopefully persuade him to spend next season playing in the Persian Gulf.
The striker’s entourage, as confirmed by L’Équipe, declined any type of negotiation with the Saudi team, who were prepared to turn the transfer market upside down with a staggering 300 million euro offer which had been accepted by PSG. In return, the France captain would receive a salary of 200 million euros - excluding extra income from image rights and sponsorship deals.
Mbappé has already stated on several occasions that his intention is to complete the final year of his contract but will not renew with PSG. He made it clear in writing on 13 June in a letter sent to PSG’s headquarters and, although the Parisians are doing everything possible to make him leave, the player has the upper hand.
The ex-Monaco forward didn’t even consider listening to the spectacular offer from Saudi Arabia. Going to the Arabian Peninsula is not in his plans right now, so there have been no rapprochements between Al-Hilal and his entourage. Currently, Mbappé continues to exercise alone in the club’s training grounds in Poissy after being ruled out by PSG from the tour of Japan on Friday.
