Kylian Mbappé is just a handful of games away from achieving a historic treble that would seal his legacy in the Paris Saint Germain history books. The Parisian club were only founded 1970 and with the backing of Qatari investment stand on the cusp of another Champions League final with Dortmund their semi-final opponents. The striker is looking to leave the French capital in a blaze of glory and is anxious to bag the three titles left on the table for the Parisians.

Although many in France still believing and hoping that the forward will have a last minute change-of-heart and stay with PSG, especially if Luis Enrique’s men win the biggest prize in European club football, it feels inevitable that the Bondy born star has already made his mind up. Despite the Asturian coach stating that “he has not lost hope yet” on Mbappé staying he still maintains that nothing is official until “one of the parties involved makes an announcement”.

Mbappé is faced with an opportunity to leave Paris as a hero and the biggest obstacle comes in the semifinals of the Champions League with the French side facing Borussia Dortmund awaits with optimism levels high in Paris, although with caution aware that either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich await in a potential Wembley final.

Eight goals in ten games and a a string of fine performances in the Champions League, top scorer with PSG, Mbappé needs to secure that one prize that has eluded him and his club. Memories of the Lisbon final in 2020 are still raw among the PSG faithful with the press singling out Mbappé for missing two clear chances during the final against Bayern so the French forward still feels he has a point to prove.

Mbappé and PSG have already bagged the French Super Cup this season. The Parc des Princes outfit hold a ten point lead at the Ligue 1 summit and are in the final of the French Cup where they face Lyon on 25 May.
