McClean in line for Wrexham Carabao Cup debut
The Republic of Ireland winger moved to the Red Dragons and missed the League Two opener but could get minutes in the game against Wigan Athletic.


Wrexham AFC confirmed the acquisition of Republic of Ireland international James McClean last week and the 34-year-old is poised to make his debut for the ‘Red Dragons’ against his old side Wigan Athletic in Tuesday’s Carabao Cup first round clash.

McClean stated: “the club has ambitions to go even further, and I’m a very ambitious person. I’m someone who is driven and I want to be a part of that journey.”
The Derry-born has had spells with Derry City before making his move into English football with Sunderland in 2011 and has subsequently played with the likes of Stoke City, West Brom and Wigan.
