Messi opens up about life in MLS
The Argentine star spoke with Apple TV about his career and reviewed his time so far with Inter Miami.

Lionel Messi recently kick-started his second full season in the MLS with the Argentine star aiming for another positive season with Inter Miami.
As Major League Soccer celebrates thirty years and as part of its alliance with Apple TV, today (Friday, February 28) an exclusive interview between Messi and legendary Zane Lowe was aired where the Argentine opens up on his personal and professional life with a heavy focus on his time at Inter Miami.
On MLS, Messi stated: “I think it’s a very dynamic and physical league where teams want to score and play on the attack. There are a lot of back-and-forth matches, and it’s a bit related to the country we’re in and the sports they’re used to, where there’s usually a lot of showmanship, a lot of points, a lot of attacking plays. The league has grown and continues to grow, and am sure this won’t stop.

Hopefully the clubs will see what happened with Inter Miami and we can all continue to grow and help the league become even bigger and more important. I think that’s an opportunity for MLS to make a change in world football and continue to grow,” Messi explained.
During the interview Messi admitted that it was always in his plans to play in the MLS. He admitted that the attraction of a new lifestyle after his unsettled spell with Paris Saint Germain was a key factor in moving to Miami too.
“I always had the idea of playing in the MLS in my head, and I’ve said it more than once. It was something that caught my attention and I wanted to do it. Coming to Inter Miami was an opportunity, and because of how everything happened, my last years in Paris, although it was a decision I had to make on the fly because I had to leave Barcelona, they were two years where I didn’t enjoy it, I wasn’t happy with the day-to-day training sessions and matches. It was very difficult for me to adapt to all that, and I wanted to come to Inter because it was a club that was growing and I was attracted by the idea of coming and helping the club become bigger, and because I knew it was a city where my family and I were going to be fine, and I don’t regret it, on the contrary, I thought it was the right time,” Messi added.

Confident that titles will come for Inter Miami
The world champion with Argentina acknowledged that Inter Miami is a club that is designed to win titles and remains confident that the franchise is on track to achieve this dream.
“I think the team we have today is built to try to win championships and that is what we are doing. I think there has been a good adaptation period with the younger players who arrived and I think that the objective has to continue being that, trying to win titles and helping the club to continue growing. The club is keen to bring younger talent through to the first team and I think that is the way to go,” he added.
