According to information obtained by TUDN, the Argentinian head coach has already decided on 24 members of his 26-man roster, with the two remaining spaces open due to injuries to striker Raúl Jiménez and winger Jesús Corona, both of whom are key members of the team.

Jesús Corona and Raúl Jiménez are 2022 World Cup doubts for Mexico

If both Corona and Jiménez miss the tournament, Santiago Giménez (Feyenoord) will occupy one of the striker spots and one of Diego Lainez (Braga) or Roberto Alvarado (Guadalajara) as a replacement wide man.

If only Jiménez recovers in time, one of Lainez and Alvarado will go but Giménez won’t.

If only Corona makes it, Giménez will go and Lainez and Alvarado will both stay at home.

If Corona and Jiménez are fit, they both go and none of the others do.

It should be pointed it that 10 members of the roster will be involved in the semi-finals of the Liga MX Apertura 2022 tournament. Johan Vásquez, meanwhile, is expected to named on the roster despite getting off to a poor start in Serie A with Cremonese.
