Jamaica

Jamaica, who are likewise assured of their place at the Gold Cup, head to the Azteca fresh from a draw and a defeat in a friendly double header against Trinidad and Tobago.

Heimir Hallgrímsson’s men were beaten by a second-half Reon Moore strike on 12 March, before playing out a goalless stalemate with their fellow Caribbeans three days later.

Only a win in Mexico will secure a Nations League finals berth for the Reggae Boyz, who drew 1-1 with their hosts when the sides met in the reverse fixture in Kingston last June.

as.com

Mexico

After beating Suriname in Cocca’s first match since being appointed as Gerardo Martino’s successor, Mexico are in pole position to win Group A and qualify for the Nations League finals.

Thursday’s 2-0 win in Paramaribo left the Mexicans two points clear of second-placed Jamaica, with Sunday’s game in Mexico City the only fixture still to be played in the group.

Mexico therefore need just a point against the Jamaicans to secure top spot.

The midweek victory over Suriname also clinched Mexico’s ticket to the 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup, as they are now certain to finish in the top two in Group A.

as.com

Tonight marks Diego Cocca’s opening home game as Mexico boss, as El Tri host Jamaica in a showdown for a place in June’s CONCACAF Nations League finals.

A win or a draw would be good enough for Mexico to advance with a win for the Caribbean side enough to see Jamaica take their place in the Final Four which will be staged in Las Vegas.

as.com

The action at the iconic stadium in the Mexican capital gets underway at 8pm (ET) with over 60,000 fans expected.

as.com

Hello and welcome to the final Concacaf Nations League Group A game as Mexico face Jamaica at the Estadio Azteca in CDMX.
