Mexico begin World Cup journey

After facing Ghana in Charlotte over the weekend, Mexico complete their double header of US friendlies by taking on Germany in Philadelphia.

The Mexicans, who appointed Jaime Lozano as permanent boss in August, are gearing up for the CONCACAF Nations League quarter-finals in November.

Fresh from replacing sacked head coach Hansi Flick with Julian Nagelsmann, the Germans also have two October friendlies in the States.

The four-time world champions, who went five games without a win before a 2-1 friendly victory over France in September, meet the USMNT in East Hartford before playing Mexico.

Mexico vs Germany: prediction

The last time the sides met, at the 2018 World Cup, it was the Mexicans who came out on top. We reckon El Tri will get something from this game, too, with the spoils shared in Philadelphia.

Prediction: Mexico 1-1 Germany.
