Mexico continue to leave good sensations in its preparation matches. Undefeated against teams it does not usually face, El Tri has shown quality and reacted well in all of the friendlies played during the past couple of months against the likes of Australia, Uzbekistan, Ghana and Germany. Now it’s time to turn the page and think about the final challenges of 2023: a round-trip series against Honduras for qualification for the 2024 Copa América, and a pre-Christmas friendly, yet to be officially announced, against Colombia.

The CONCACAF Nations League quarter final first leg against Honduras will be played on Wednesday, November 15 in Tegucigalpa; The return leg is on Sunday the 19th with the stadium yet to be determined. As for the match against Colombia, it is planned for Saturday, December 16 at a venue in the United States - possibly in Los Angeles. As it is not a game within an official FIFA window, clubs are not obliged to give up players, so Jaime Lozano could field an unusual side in this particular match.

Although Lozano seems to have reorganized the national team, he has not yet satisfied all of the fans. His starting line-ups for the matches against Ghana and Germany received some criticism from fans, with questions about his choice for the goalkeeping position and in attack. With the imminent incorporation of recently-naturalized forward Julián Quiñones, the coach will have even more decisions to make.
