Mexico on their way to winning Nations League group
Mexico face Jamaica in the final Concacaf Nations League game on Sunday.
Mexico got the result they were looking for in their penultimate CONCACAF Nations League clash with Suriname on Thursday. A 0-2 win with goals from Johan Vásquez and an own goal from Damil Dankerlui gave El Tri their second win in Group A, which they top on seven points. Diego Cocca’s team will have the chance to win the group on Sunday - a victory or a draw against Jamaica at the Azteca would be enough to end the group phase as champions of their section and as top seeds.
Mexico drew 1-1 with Jamaica when they met at Independence Park in June last year. Sunday’s game will kick off at 18:00 hours local time (8 p.m. EDT / 5 p.m. PDT)
