Ochoa among major names to return to Mexico XI

Cocca can therefore be expected to make a number of changes to the side that began Thursday’s 2-0 win over minnows Suriname in League A Group A. Several players are in line to make their first appearance for Mexico since the 2022 World Cup.
Guillermo Ochoa is set to replace Carlos Acevedo in goal, with Jorge Sánchez, César Montes, Héctor Moreno and Jesús Gallardo the home team’s likely defence. In midfield, Cocca is expected to field Edson Álvarez, Luis Chávez, Luis Romo and Orbelín Pineda.
In attack, Mexico are poised to make a significant change: Feyenoord striker Santi Giménez led the line in Paramaribo in midweek, but Club América’s Henry Martín is in the frame to take the 21-year-old’s place up front.
What result to Mexico need against Jamaica?
Mexico lead Group A with seven points, two ahead of the Jamaicans, so the hosts will qualify for next June’s Nations League finals as long as they avoid defeat against Heimir Hallgrimsson’s side.
Mexico and Jamaica have already booked their tickets to the 2023 Gold Cup, as both are guaranteed to finish in the top two in Group A. Having played all four of their league-phase games, third-placed Suriname have collected just one point.
