Milan teenager Camarda can make Serie A history at 15
The Milan striker, born in 2008, could become the youngest debutant in Serie A history.
At 15 years of age, Francesco Camarda looks destined to become the youngest debutant in the history of Serie A. The Italian, born in 2008, has been making waves for some time now, scoring 500 goals in his first five years in the Milan youth academy.
Breaking record after record, this season he scored seven goals in 13 appearances. One of them went viral: a spectacular bicycle kick against PSG, in the Youth League. Olivier Giroud’s suspension and Luka Jovic’s lack of form means that he could make his debut with the first team this weekend, something that would be historic for Italian soccer.
At 15 years, 8 months and 15 days old, if Camarda plays this weekend against Fiorentina, he will surpass Paolo Maldini’s record. The Italian defender made his debut at 16 years, 6 months and 25 days old.
Donnarumma debut
Fiorentina was the legendary full-back’s last opponent on May 31, 2009, and is the same club against whom Camarda, with a great header, scored the decisive goal in the final of the U-15 scudetto in 2022. Stefano Pioli discussed the possibility of another debut during his press conference on Friday. “Talent has no age and sometimes fate creates opportunities. We will have to accompany him in his growth, he is very young, but he is very mature and is ready to help us if needed.”
In 2015, Gigi Donnarumma made his debut at the age of 16 years and 8 months.
