MNM the “holy grail” for PSG

The talented trio of Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappé each scored a goal in PSG’s 7-2 Champions League win over Maccabi Haifa on Tuesday.

The MNM trio shone in Paris Saint Germain’s Champions League victory over Maccabi Haifa on Tuesday. Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé each scored two goals and Neymar scored one. Add to that one more from Carlos Soler and one from Shon Goldberg and it was a 7-2 beatdown that led PSG to the last 16 of the Champions League.

“It’s very nice to see them in training every day,” said PSG coach Christophe Galtier, referring to the MNM trio. “And especially when they play as they did tonight or even in other games. Obviously, for a coach, it’s the Holy Grail.

Messi (11 goals, 12 assists), Neymar (13 goals, 9 assists), and Mbappé (16 goals, 4 assists) have all been directly involved in over 20 goals in all competitions this season. The two goals Messi scored on Tuesday make him the first player to ever score 80 goals in the group phase of the Champions League.

I have three extraordinary strikers,” said Galtier. “Everyone knows the quality they possess and their technical relationship in small spaces.”

“When there are transitions, when one of them runs with the ball at his feet, they all move up the field together very quickly. They played in the right way and for each other. It’s obviously very pleasant to watch.”
