Mo Salah hits back at Jamie Carragher with crushing comment
The Liverpool striker delivered a succinct put-down to the former Red and current pundit after he criticised the Egyptian.
Liverpool have three ‘open cases’ active with the futures of Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil Van Dijk still clouded in uncertainty
All three players have been vital pillars of the Anfield Road side over the years and with their current deals with the club expiring on 30 June, all three are now in a position to freely negotiate with would-be suitors.
Former ‘Red’ Jamie Carragher analysed the situation on Sky Sports over the weekend with Egyptian striker Salah later claiming on that Carragher had an “obsession” with him.
Uncertain futures
All three players are handling the situation differently in terms of communication. Just after the United game, Virgil Van Dijk spoke in the mixed zone about his contractual situation, saying that there was “no update” on the subject. On the other hand, Salah decided to upload a photo of the three of them on social media without any text with Trent Alexander-Arnold declining to make any comments on his social media platforms.
Carragher later urged Trent and Salah “to take note” of Van Dijk adding: “I will say that Van Dijk has come out of this situation better as captain of the club and I hold him in higher regard. The way he has behaved and played. He has not involved himself in all this and I would like to pay tribute to Virgil as he has behaved like a statesman. He has been asked questions and he has not shied away from them. He wants to win the Premier League and is doing everything he can for Liverpool. I hope he renews. The other two (TAA and Salah) could take note of Van Dijk and follow his example,” he added.
Taking to X/Twitter late on Monday night, Salah claimed that Carragher has an “obsession” with him. Using the platform, the Egyptian international reposted the video uploaded by Sky Sports with this opinion of Carragher and replied stating: “I’m starting to think you’re obsessed with me,” he said.
The 32-year-old has bagged 21 goals and delivered a career-high 17 assists in 27 games for Liverpool across the Premier League, Champions League and Carabao Cup this season to date.
