One of Real Madrid’s most important players, Luka Modric, showed his delight at Sunday’s 3-1 victory against Barcelona in the Clásico and wanted to thank the Madrid fans for their support and the thunderous ovation the Bernabéu faithful gave him in the 78th minute when he was substituted for Camavinga.

Modric spoke after the match to say, “We are happy for the victory, very happy for the game we played and we wanted to thank the people for the great atmosphere they created today. This is the best thing that can happen to a player.”
Regarding the keys to Real Madrid’s 3-1 victory, Modric commented that “we knew there was going to come a time in the game where they were going to have to suffer because they handle the ball well and that’s where we had to defend strongly and keep going and we have done it. Then we were very forceful up front. We played a great game”.
Regarding the Ballon d’Or gala that will be awarded tomorrow at the Chatele theater in Paris, France, with Real Madrid striker Benzema as the leading candidate to take the prize, the Croatian footballer confessed that “we all know what is going to happen, and what we want. We want it and Karim deserves it.”
