José Mourinho wants to return to where he has called home on two different occasions. The Portuguese manager led the Italian side to becoming Conference League champions last season and this season the team is fifth in Serie A, just one point behind second-placed Milan. However, according to the British newspaper Daily Mail, the man from Setúbal (Portugal) is not comfortable in Rome.

Mourinho has the ambition to fight for the championship yet he feels that the club is not supporting his sporting project from a financial point of view. Currently, there are 13 points that separate them from the top of the table, and Norwegian striker Ola Solbaken, who arrived at the beginning of the month at zero cost, has been the only reinforcement for the team in this winter window.

Mourinho would be happy to return to London

Everything influences the desire of the Portuguese manager to return to London. The situation in London is complicated and rumours of a possible dismissal of Graham Potter are more and more frequent. Given the possibility that the bench at Stamford Bridge will be left empty, Mourinho’s representatives, according to the Daily Mail, have leaked that the Portuguese would be delighted to return to the club.

Family matters

Another important aspect is the fact that his family continues to live in the English capital. The distance could tilt Mourinho’s decision to leave Roma, although he would not do so until the end of the season. In this context, West Ham is also an attractive option for the coach, as David Moyes is not hitting the right notes this year. The team has been flirting with relegation for weeks and the situation could lead to a change on the bench, also in London.
