2022 WORLD CUP
‘Muchachos’ movie celebrating Messi and Argentina’s World Cup win primed for December release
The film is launched on 7 December almost a year after Lionel Messi lifted the World Cup trophy in Lusail after a dramatic win over France.
To commemorate Argentina’s 2022 World Cup win in Qatar approximately a year ago, a new film is set for release as ‘Muchachos, la película de la gente’ (the people’s film) hits cinemas on 7 December.
Directed by Jesus Braceras the film takes us on a journey from the opening group game defeat against Saudi Arabia and showcases the collective joy, anticipation and celebration of Argentine families, friends and neighbors during the 2022 World Cup. The movie also features rare and exclusive footage from FIFA and shows how the Albiceleste bounced back from the opening loss to secure a third title and features contributions form passionate Argentine football supporters located in all corners of the world.
Narrated by renowned actor Guillermo Francella, who states that the World Cup for Scaloni’s side with Leo Messi captaining the ship, played out as if it were a fairytale but it was all very real.
The film is already generating plenty of excitement with former Man City and Argentina striker Kun Aguero posting the trailer on his Instagram account.
At present, Buenos Aires based Pampa Films have yet to confirm if the movie will get a US/international release date.
