Indeed, the 36-year-old appears likely to be sidelined until Miami face Monterrey in the first leg of the Champions Cup on 3 April.

Red Bulls reeling from maiden loss

Meanwhile, the New York Red Bulls, who last failed to make the playoffs in 2009, have started their MLS campaign with seven points out of 12, leaving them three points and five places below Miami. Sandro Schwarz’s men suffered their first defeat of the season last time out, losing 3-0 to defending MLS champions Columbus Crew.
