Neymar blasts former Liverpool player over criticism
The PSG player, who played a decisive role in his team’s Ligue 1 win over Marseille, took to Instagram to vent his frustration.
Neymar has blasted former Brazilian footballer Fabio Aurelio after he criticised the PSG forward in an interview with Goal.
Aurelio, once a left-back with Liverpool, spoke about the forward failing to win a World Cup and Ballon d’Or in his career, adding that he would be disappointed if he were Neymar.
“I always say that I would be very disappointed if I was him. The ambitions he has, and for the quality and talent he has, the fact that he has never won a Ballon d’Or feels wrong. He has all the conditions to do it, but I don’t know what has happened. Maybe some things are more important to him than the game, I don’t know?”
Neymar hits back
The PSG player, who played a decisive role in his side’s Ligue 1 win over Marseille on Sunday, took to Instagram to vent his frustration with his compatriot.
Neymar posted a story with a laughing emoji next to Goal’s interview with Aurelio, then screenshotted all the titles he has won in his career with Santos, Barcelona and PSG and followed it up with a video lashing out at the criticism players often receive.
“I’m tired of these ex-players who are there and only open their mouths to talk shit. A five minute interview and all he did was talk about other people’s lives. If you want to criticise, criticise. But talking shit like that is not possible,” Neymar said.
