Neymar scores on PSG return
PSG forward Neymar returned to club action for Thursday’s friendly against Jeonbuk in South Korea.
Neymar is back and Neymar has scored. The Paris Saint-Germain forward, who underwent ankle surgery earlier in the year, returned to club action for Thursday’s friendly against Jeonbuk in South Korea.
After 40 minutes, the Brazilian opened the scoring with a remarkable effort, beating several defenders to work an angle for himself and give the French champions the lead before the interval at the Busan Asiad Main Stadium.
Luis Enrique unsurprisingly made several second-half changes as his side held on to a narrow lead.
Mbappé goes off
Ethan Mbappé, Marco Verratti, Cher Ndour, Ismaël Gharbi and Juan Bernat were all replaced just after the hour-mark.
Neymar brace
In the 83rd minute, Neymar grabbed his second of the game, before substitute and former Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio added a third with a fine strike from the edge of the area in the 88th minute.
Ligue 1 return
PSG return to Ligue 1 action for the start of the 2023-24 campaign on Saturday, August 12, when they face Lorient at the Parc des Princes.
