No injury concerns for Madrid ahead of Barça and Chelsea tests

All Real Madrid players on international duty reported back to training injury free and this situation now poses another problem of a positive nature for Carlo Ancelotti. For the first time in a while, the Italian coach has a full squad to call upon with no players out of action due to injury. Real Madrid are 12 points behind FC Barcelona in LaLiga with even the most optimistic Madridistas aware that such a gap is almost impossible to close. The club will invariably channel all their energy into the forthcoming Copa del Rey second leg and Champions League quarter-final games.

April promises to be another busy month for ‘Los Blancos’ with nine games set to be played between League, Cup and Champions League matches. In the domestic competition, Madrid will face Valladolid, Villarreal, Cádiz, Celta, Girona and Almeria during the month. Next week sees the side from the capital head to Camp Nou as they try and turn around a 0-1 first leg defeat in the semi-final of the Copa del Rey. The following weeks will see Real Madrid play Chelsea home and away in the Champions League quarter finals.

The league games will provide the Italian coach an ideal opportunity to rotate the squad with the likes of Asensio and Ceballos set to secure more playing time with both players out of contract with the club come 30 June.

The main objective for the club is to secure another title to the European Super Cup and the Club World Cup with the Champions League and Copa del Rey seen as priorities and realistic objectives. The final furlong to the 2022-23 campaign gets underway this weekend as Real Valladolid visit the Bernabeu.
