NWSL side Houston Dash suspends James Clarkson after harassment investigation
The Houston Dash announced on Tuesday the suspension of their head coach and general manager due to an ongoing investigation.
Another scandal has surfaced in the National Women’s Soccer League and this time the Houston Dash are affected by an ongoing investigation. The NSWL side announced late on Tuesday that their head coach and general manager, James Clark, is being investigated to ‘review current and historic complaints of discrimination, harrasmant and abuse.’
The Houston-based team will appoint an interim head coach in the following days as they prepare for their first game of the 2022 NWSL regular season against San Diego Wave on Sunday. The Dash will wait for the final results of the investigation to determine the future of James Clark and his involvement with the club.

“As an organization, our highest priority is creating and maintaining a safe and respectful work environment for our players and staff, which we believe is critical to our success on the pitch,” the Dash said in a statement. “The Club has made counseling services available to all members of the organization interested.”

“Players made a promise to ourselves and future generations to transform our League -- not through words, but with our actions,” NWSLPA Executive Director Meghann Burke said in a statement. “This shows that our joint investigation is doing the work of systemic transformation. The work continues, and we commend Players for speaking up and speaking out.”
