Guillermo Ochoa helps Salernitana earn valuable point against Inter
The Mexican goalkeeper made 10 saves in the 1-1 draw against Inter.
Guillermo Ochoa was at his best in the 1-1 draw between Salernitana and Inter Milan on Friday. The Mexican goalkeeper pulled off some big saves to help move his side further away from the relegation zone.
Sofascore rated the Mexican player’s performance with an 8.8 - the highest of the match. In a fine display between the sticks, Ochoa made 10 saves against Inter. Robin Gosens gave the visitors the lead after just six minutes, but veteran Antonio Candreva equalised for the home side in stoppage time.
Salernitana are now 15th in Serie A and sit on 29 points, 10 points above the dropzone.
Ochoa to stay in Europe
On ESPN’s broadcast, commentator Mauricio Ymay made it known that the Mexican goalkeeper plans to stay in Europe for two more seasons. The journalist revealed that it was the first game in which Ochoa’s family went to watch him play live since joining the Italian outfit.
Ochoa signed a six-month contract with Salernitana and will be a free agent in the summer but could end up staying at the club. He has also been linked with Italian giants Milan and Inter.
